On November 10, the last copy of the Octavia Tour rolled off the assembly line of the Skoda plant in the Czech city of Vrchlabi. ITAR-TASS reports this with reference to a statement by representatives of the company's management. The Octavia Tour model - the previous Octavia, first generation - has been produced since 1996. Over the past 14 years, a total of 1 million 442 thousand 126 such cars have been assembled. "The Octavia has been and remains our most popular base model. Demand for these cars continues to be strong in the national and global markets," Skoda said. In Ukraine, production of the Octavia Tour was completed on April 8, 2010, when the last Skoda Octavia Tour model rolled off the MKD production line of the Eurocar plant. Dealers sold out of stocks of such cars in the summer of 2010. The Skoda website has already published information about the car that will replace the old Octavia Tour. It will be the pre-restyling version of the second generation Octavia, first introduced in 2004. In the European market, the car will be offered with two gasoline engines of 1.4 and 1.6 liters with a capacity of 80 and 102 horsepower, respectively. The engines will be coupled with a five-speed manual transmission.
