Another one with the letter “K”: Skoda introduced the Kushaq crossover

The Skoda compact crossover, announced at the end of the year before last and presented as the Vision In concept at the exhibition in New Delhi in 2020, has officially become production. It is called Kushaq. In fact, the design of the new product was revealed during the teaser campaign, but now we have full photos and videos and all the technical details. “Sash” is a fairly close relative, but by no means a complete copy of the European Kamiq. It is designed and manufactured in India on the MQB-A0-IN platform, a variation of the MQB, “tailored” to the needs of the local market. Vehicle dimensions – 4221x1760x1612 mm, wheelbase – 2651 mm. The trunk holds 385 liters, with storage compartments for a further 26.2 liters in the cabin. The Skoda Kushaq debuted with an exclusive orange body and 17-inch alloy wheels, but simpler versions get 16-inch steel wheels. In the interior, the differences from its European counterpart are also clearly visible: the Indian crossover has a two-spoke steering wheel, and a touch panel is used to control the climate control system. In older trim levels, the size of the touchscreen increases from 7 to 10 inches, and more advanced acoustics with a subwoofer appear. The base for the Skoda Kushaq is a 115 hp liter turbo engine. and 175 Nm, combined with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. A 1.5-liter turbo-four engine developing 150 hp will also be available. and 250 Nm - with the same mechanics or a seven-speed robot.
